Belize Board Carries On Vision

A new era began for Belize Christian Academy on March 3 when seven new board members were appointed and met for the first time. The new board affirmed the long-standing mission and vision of the school and interviewed a candidate for the TeachBeyond Belize National Director position to facilitate staff recruitment, international accreditation, facility planning, and inter-organizational partnerships.

Pictured above are board members (from left) Joel Westby, Rita Acevedo, Judy Williams, Carolyn Hulse, Greg Needham and Howard Dueck. Not pictured, but attending the board meeting by Skype, are Randall Smith, Whit Goodwin and John Carr.

“What a tremendous God story to be told, to see God’s plan unfolding even before Charlie fell ill,” said board treasurer John Carr. He was referring to Charlie Williams who founded BCA with his wife, Judy. Last fall, Charlie went to be with his Lord shortly after being diagnosed with leukemia. Two years ago, the Lord led the Williams to seek a partner to help carry the load of running and governing a private school, and ensure its future through accreditation, teacher recruitment, and increased enrollment. They chose TeachBeyond as their education partner.

“It is a huge relief to have TeachBeyond already in place as a full ownership partner to govern BCA and take it to the next level. What a blessing,” Judy said.
