God Sees the Sparrows…Update from Uganda

God Sees the Sparrows…Update from Uganda

What a wonderful week of learning and laughter, friendships and leadership development!! We were privileged to attend the TeachBeyond Sparrow Project Conference in Entebbe, Uganda, June 20-26, 2025.

Many of the Sparrow core team and mentors were joined by 24 participants with 11 nations represented. Most of the participants are lead facilitators but there were also a few new facilitators, who were introduced to the Sparrow Project program. These new facilitators attended a 3-day pre-conference which included observing a Sparrow Training at a local school in Kayenje, then debriefing the training that they saw and worshipping together at a local church on Sunday.

We began each day with worship and devotions led by different members sharing from God’s word. The Sparrow Team introduced the new School Leadership Curriculum, discussed how to make the Sparrow Program sustainable in their countries, build partnerships, develop a facilitator team, and lead a teacher cohort.

The goal of this conference was to develop and support Sparrow leaders in their context and support other teams in their country. The participants were eager to share stories of transformation; it was so encouraging to hear how God is working around the world. Of course, we also made sure to enjoy the local Ugandan culture with a Lake Victoria boat ride to the Equator, local food tasting, and a worship evening.

Continue to pray for the Sparrow Project, the leaders, local facilitators and teachers receiving the training. God is moving and He is using education to transform hearts and lives!
