New Beginnings in Southeast Asia

Jonathan is a recent college graduate and new TeachBeyond member who has just joined the mission field. Jonathan’s father heard about a school in Southeast Asia that needed math teachers, and Jonathan was interested in using his new degree and seeing what God was doing around the world.

Jonathan had never been to the country where he’s serving before arriving there last month. He flew into his new host country with his school’s director, as well as two other TeachBeyond members, and says it has been a blessing to have others around who are also adjusting to their new home and culture. Though there were some challenges, he says it has been amazing to see how God has brought so many people together in one place, and the school has been placed with more than twice as many teachers as it had the previous year. So far, he’s been able to connect with a fellowship of expat believers, as well as a few locals of his host country. He’s excited to learn more of the local language so he can engage more meaningfully with the people around him.

We’re so thankful for members like Jonathan who are willing to pursue God’s work around the world, especially in countries where that message is not always heard. Let’s pray for Jonathan, his school, and the region where he serves.
