Running for TeachBeyond

On 3rd April 2022, 3 runners representing TeachBeyond laced up their boots, and joined around 10,000 others, to run the streets of London. Matt Coe, National Director of TeachBeyond UK, his son, Callum Coe, and Nancy Durance, wife of TeachBeyond President David Durance, ran the London Landmark Half Marathon 2022 to raise awareness and funds for TeachBeyond global work. The team raised around £6,000 GBP (7,200 USD), half of which will go towards needs in Ukraine.

As our team was praying about the event, we felt led to give at least half of the money raised towards this need. We realised that there are bigger things to think about and pray about… than just the work of our team alone,” said Matt.

Matt also praised God for bringing the team together and using everyone’s talents. “The UK and Global Centre teams came together and created a stand towards the end of the run. We could see them running (to cheer for us) one way and then back. It was a lovely moment.”

The event also helped create more awareness and an international flavour. “Our donors came from all over the world, even from my previous missionary journeys. Supporters clicked and gave on the back of our social media posts,” he said.

The team has already started focusing on the next run. “We’re looking for people and organisations who would like to sponsor us for next year and with whom we are partners. We raised 6k this year; we’d love to raise £20k GBP (24k USD) next year, which will predominantly go to helping recruit more people to send around the world.”
