Essential Duties of the Job
- Prepare lessons according to curriculum guidelines
- Give instruction and supervise students
- Provide assessment of students according to guidelines given
- Attend after school meetings and be available for extra-curricular activities as needed
Job Specifications:
- Bachelor's degree & certification in education
- Minimum of one year teaching experience (preferred)
- Ability to work with children
- Desire to expand the reach of the Gospel
- Willingness to work as part of a team
- Growing relationship with Christ
Courses Offered in this Department:
- Foundations of Faith invites students to build a solid foundation of belief in the person of Christ as they examine the foundational elements of faith systems and understand the distinctions of a Christ-centered worldview. Students will be challenged to apply the definitions of faith and truth in their examination of the Bible as God's inerrant revelation as they examine God's revelation through a Christ-centered lens
- New Testament (Gr.10) begins with a study of the Gospels where students develop familiarity with the life and ministry of Christ through an in-depth overview of His life in historical and literary context and by analyzing the many detail of His life. A study of the early Church as recorded in Acts is they followed by a survey of the NT epistles with an emphais upon application to contemporary situations
- Christian Living (Gr.11) is about relationships as they study disciplines that can help one grow or stay strong in their relationship with God. The class focuses on how God calls us to Himself and reveals His will in various aspects of life. It also covers relationships with friends, parents, mentors, community, authorities, and significant others.
- Philosophy & Theology (Gr.12) combines the study of basic philosophy of the nature of reality and Christ-centered theology with the exploration of highly influential works.
- Ethics in a Postmodern World (Gr.12) begins with a survey approach to ethics (both biblical and secular) and explores postmodernity, what it is and where it comes from as well as how it has impacted culture, ethics and the church. A study of various ethical issues follows.
