POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Spanish Teacher at Bingham Academy, your mission field is your classroom and the hearts and minds of your students. Every lesson taught, every prayer shared, and every act of service contributes to shaping a generation that will go on to influence the world for Christ.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and deliver engaging, student centered Spanish lessons aligned with the Cambridge curriculum and the school's educational goals.
- Prepare schemes of work, learning resources and assessments that monitor academic progress and support character development.
- Differentiate instruction to respond to varied learning needs, language backgrounds and levels of readiness.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback and maintain accurate records of student attainment and progress.
- Create a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom and manage it in a consistent, restorative and Christ-centered manner.
- Integrate a Christian philosophy of education and model Christlikeness in relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Collaborate with colleagues, communicate with parents and contribute to meetings, professional development, chapel and wider school activities.
- Teach courses assigned by the secondary principal.
- Carry out all assigned duties with professionalism.
- Teach and serve in a broad range of responsibilities as requested by administration.
- Maintain personal teaching certifications.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or related subject
- Teaching Certification/License
- One year teaching experience
- Proficiency in the Spanish language and ability to teach all four modalities: speaking, listening, reading and writing
- Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE and/or A-Level Spanish (desired, but negotiable)
